Call For Tech NowModel Description
In 2024, Toyota added the Crown Signia to its lineup for the 2025 model year. This unique vehicle was built on the same platform as the Camry but combined elements of both a station wagon and an SUV.
Following the debut of the Crown sedan, Toyota announced plans to create an entire family of vehicles under the Crown nameplate. The Crown, which has been produced since 1955 and has gone through sixteen generations by 2022, has long been Japan’s most prestigious Toyota model. The Crown Signia entered a new market segment, targeting customers seeking spacious, luxurious vehicles with elevated ground clearance.
The front design of the Crown Signia, dubbed “hammer-head,” featured a Lexus-inspired grille with diamond-cut patterns and a wide lower air intake. Slim LED headlights with automatic leveling (available on the Limited trim) flanked the fog lamp intakes.
Available in XLE and Limited trims, the Crown Signia distinguished itself primarily through wheel size (19 inches for XLE, 21 inches for Limited). Both versions showcased black accents around the wheel arches and side sills, emphasizing its SUV character. The vehicle’s sporty greenhouse design, forward-sloping D-pillars, and roof spoiler contributed to its dynamic appearance. The rear featured connected LED taillights and a discreet exhaust design.
Inside, both trims shared a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia touchscreen with navigation. The Limited trim boasted an 11-speaker JBL audio system and a panoramic roof, while the XLE came with a 6-speaker setup. Front seats offered heating and ventilation, with rear seats featuring door-side bolsters reminiscent of a lounge sofa. All models included faux leather upholstery and a split-folding trunk for enhanced cargo flexibility.
Mechanically, the Crown Signia shared the Camry’s platform but featured standard all-wheel drive. Its powertrain consisted of a 2.5-liter engine paired with two electric motor-generators (one for each axle), powered by a NiMh battery pack, enabling short-range EV operation.
