The eighth generation of the Honda Civic sedan was sold worldwide, but despite sharing the same name with the Civic hatchback, it had very little in common with it.
Unlike other manufacturers who typically create sedan and station-wagon versions by simply modifying a hatchback, Honda took a different approach.
Production of the sedan took place in Turkey with gasoline engines and in Japan with hybrid engines, with no diesel variant available. Its exterior design was distinct from the hatchback, featuring larger headlights and taillights unique to the model.
Inside, the cabin featured specially designed seats with the gasoline tank mounted beneath the rear seats, allowing for a lower driving position. The instrument cluster boasted a futuristic split display system, with the speedometer positioned at the top and non-essential driving information such as the trip meter and warning lights located below.
