While RAM Trucks took its time to introduce the first fully electric pickup truck, the result was a vehicle loaded with innovative technologies and unique features unprecedented in its class.
Recognizing the skepticism of pickup enthusiasts towards electric vehicles, Stellantis aimed to impress them with a truck that surpasses all competitors in its segment. The company went beyond just creating a workhorse, delivering a multifaceted vehicle that excels both on and off-road, combines practicality with luxury elements, and offers exceptional versatility.
The aggressive design that RAM is famous for was preserved in the new model. The front grille showcased a prominent illuminated badge, complemented by arrow-style LED daytime running lights and headlamps. The 1500 REV featured flared front fenders to accommodate 275/50R22 tires, while the rear offered an optional power tailgate with an illuminated red RAM emblem.
The interior came equipped with advanced technology, including a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, a 14.5-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen infotainment system, and a 10.25-inch passenger display, depending on the trim level. An available head-up display further enhanced the tech package. Acknowledging the recreational use of pickups, Stellantis incorporated Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capabilities, featuring a 3.6 kW outlet in the front trunk and a 7.2 kW connector at the rear for powering tools, appliances, homes, or charging other electric vehicles.
Underpinning the vehicle is the new STLA platform with a dedicated body-on-frame structure and a dual-motor setup delivering up to 654 horsepower (481 kW) to both axles. Buyers can choose between two battery options: a standard 168 kWh pack offering a range of 350 miles (563 km) or an extended 229 kWh battery providing an impressive 500 miles (805 km) in the 800-volt architecture truck.
