The Mercedes-Benz 190 SL, launched in 1955, was a beautifully styled, two-seat grand touring coupe and roadster. In 2011, the third-generation SLK (R172) debuted at the Geneva Motor Show. Longer, wider, yet lighter, the new SLK redefined the segment again. With advanced gasoline and diesel engine options, including a 204 hp turbodiesel, and a choice between 6-speed manuals and 7-speed automatics, it offered sharper handling and greater fuel efficiency. Most importantly, the Magic Sky Control - an electronically tintable glass roof panel - was introduced, offering a futuristic way to transition between sun and shade.
