In 2013, Lexus debuted the third generation IS at the North American International Auto Show. With the adoption of the brand’s now-signature spindle grille, the IS took on a more dramatic, sporty look. Swept-back LED headlights and an arched side profile emphasized the car’s athletic intent. At the rear, wide taillights extended from the fenders into the trunk, giving the IS a planted, assertive stance.
A 2016 facelift brought further refinements, including a mesh grille design, reworked lower bumper with integrated brake-cooling side vents, and a more sophisticated interior. The gauge cluster was upgraded with a center-mounted rev counter and additional digital displays. A new infotainment system featured a larger high-resolution screen, with Apple CarPlay compatibility and an optional 15-speaker Mark Levinson premium sound system.
