The Kia Rondo was unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show in 2007. This compact crossover wagon was designed to blend the versatility of a minivan with impressive fuel economy and class-leading safety features.
The Rondo came in two trim levels: the LX and the EX. While the LX offered 16-inch alloy wheels, the EX upgraded to 17-inch alloys with chrome accents on the front grille and door handles. The EX also included roof rails and an optional power tilt sliding moonroof. Inside, the cabin could comfortably seat between five and seven passengers, with ample legroom and headroom for everyone. High-quality materials were used throughout, and the EX trim featured optional heated leather front seats.
Kia followed the downsizing trend in the third-generation Rondo, offering smaller, fuel-efficient engines in select markets. This new generation replaced both the Sedona and the previous Rondo, adopting Kia’s signature “tiger-nose” grille styling. At the front, the angular headlights swept back to the sides, resembling those on the Kia cee’d. Overall, the car looked like a larger version of the cee’d with a taller greenhouse, leading to a steep hood connecting to a sharply raked windshield. The taillights shared a similar design to the cee’d’s. Most buyers, however, prioritized interior space, and Kia significantly enhanced the Rondo’s cabin. It offered generous headroom and legroom for both front and middle-row passengers.
