In 2018, Hyundai unveiled the second generation of the Veloster, boasting an updated exterior, revamped interior, improved engine options, and an expanded list of features.
The car’s redesigned appearance is largely based on refined proportions and increased volume. The new bodywork effectively communicates dynamic capabilities, even when stationary. The vehicle exhibits a more robust profile, characterized by enlarged fenders and wheel arches that contribute to a more grounded look. The windshield’s leading edge and A-pillar have been relocated rearward, seamlessly blending the hood and beltline into a cohesive, powerful visual statement. The distinctive asymmetrical styling extends to the cabin, featuring a driver-centric layout. The Turbo Ultimate variant introduces a contrasting color scheme that visually isolates the driver’s compartment. Every trim level showcases its own palette of colors, materials, and decorative elements, creating a unique aesthetic identity through diverse shades and textures.
Standard safety equipment on the Veloster was highly impressive, including Vehicle Stability Management, Electronic Stability Control, and Motor Driven Power Steering. Safety provisions also included a comprehensive six-airbag system and an advanced braking setup with four-wheel disc brakes, ABS complemented by brake assist (which activates maximum braking force in emergency situations), and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution that dynamically adjusts braking power between front and rear axles based on load distribution.
Customers could choose from a range of exterior colors: Ultra Black, Chalk White, Sonic Silver, Thunder Gray, Sunset Orange, Racing Red, and Space Gray.
