Hyundai entered the sport coupe segment with its Coupe model, known as the Tiburon. True to Hyundai’s tradition, the car offered an exceptional warranty and an impressive array of features at a more affordable price than its competitors.
The 2007 iteration received a visual update, featuring redesigned front and rear fascias, including new taillights, headlights, and revised exhaust outlets.
The Tiburon was available in four trim levels: GS, GT, GT Limited, and SE.
The standard 2007 model came equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system, air conditioning, keyless entry, fog lights, and 16-inch alloy wheels. Upgrading to the GT trim added features such as automatic climate control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, cruise control, a trip computer, and larger 17-inch alloy wheels.
Moving up the trim hierarchy, the GT Limited featured red leather interior, a power sunroof, and an upgraded Infinity sound system. The most performance-oriented SE trim boasted sport-tuned suspension, a rear spoiler, aluminum pedals, red brake calipers, and a 6-speed manual transmission.
Power options included a base 2.0-liter engine producing 138 horsepower, while higher trims were equipped with a 2.7-liter V6 engine generating 172 horsepower. However, the 2.7-liter engine was criticized for delivering less power than anticipated compared to other sport coupes in the market segment.
