The Palisade, Hyundai’s flagship SUV, underwent a comprehensive update in 2022, receiving significant enhancements both externally and internally.
Introduced at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show, the Palisade quickly established itself as a competitive contender in the premium SUV segment, offering a compelling array of features and amenities. Recognizing its potential, Hyundai further refined the model in early 2022 with a revised version that brought upgrades across multiple facets, while maintaining its overall silhouette.
Exterior modifications included a broader grille featuring a cascading design, complemented by five horizontal slats and chrome accents on the front fascia. The redesigned vertical headlights contributed to a more imposing, Escalade-inspired appearance. At the rear, the bumper received a fresh look with a horizontal red stripe positioned above the silver-colored underbody protection.
Interior improvements showcased Hyundai’s commitment to luxury, introducing heated seats in the third row – a first for the brand. The second row was upgraded with both heated and ventilated seats for enhanced passenger comfort. Safety was also prioritized, with an increase in standard airbags from seven to nine.
Mechanically, the updated Palisade retained the familiar 3.8-liter V6 engine operating in Atkinson Cycle mode for optimized fuel economy, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. A notable addition to the drivetrain was the inclusion of Tow Mode for the electronically controlled all-wheel drive system, enhancing the vehicle’s versatility.
