After spending four years on the market, the Genesis GV70 underwent a significant update for the 2026 model year, aiming to compete more effectively with its rivals in the premium compact crossover class.
The Korean automaker unveiled the 2026 Genesis GV70 with an array of innovative features and options that were not available when the model was first launched during the global pandemic in 2020. The manufacturer’s primary focus was on enhancing the interior of this luxurious compact crossover. However, careful observation reveals subtle exterior improvements as well. Additionally, the lineup now includes an all-electric variant for those seeking an eco-friendly option.
Compared to its predecessor, the front of the 2026 Genesis GV70 remains largely unchanged. It retains the distinctive split LED headlights with the brand’s signature dual horizontal daytime running lights. However, closer inspection reveals a newly designed grille featuring a diamond pattern with an optional piano-black finish. The lower bumper area has also been redesigned, boasting a wider central air intake in the apron, accentuated by a curved visor-like trim that separates it from the side intakes.
From the side profile, the 2026 Genesis GV70 offers new wheel options ranging from 19 to 20 inches in diameter. The Electrified GV70 variant comes with unique aerodynamic wheels specifically designed to enhance range efficiency. The car’s character lines, which begin on the front fenders, flow gracefully downward toward the rear, culminating at the quarter panels. To maintain its urban-focused stance, the automaker opted for body-colored side skirts, giving the vehicle a standard ground clearance typical of a city-oriented crossover.
The most notable transformations in the 2026 Genesis GV70 are found within the cabin. The traditional analog gauges and conventional instrument cluster from the previous version have been replaced by a sweeping dashboard display. The steering wheel frames the driver’s information screen, while a touchscreen infotainment system sits atop the center stack, supporting wireless integration with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The front center console, positioned between the sport seats, features a spacious armrest with storage underneath, cup holders, a rotary gear selector for the automatic transmission, and various driving mode controls.
Powering the 2026 Genesis GV70 are the familiar 2.5-liter and 3.5-liter turbocharged engines, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. Additionally, the luxury division of Hyundai offers the Electrified GV70 variant, equipped with an electric powertrain featuring dual motors and all-wheel drive. This electric version is powered by a 77.4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, providing a driving range of 236 miles (380 kilometers).
