The 2023 Honda HR-V, launched in 2022 for the North American market, impressed consumers with its innovative design and enlarged dimensions.
When Honda first released the HR-V, it was a groundbreaking compact crossover sharing its chassis with the diminutive Honda Logo. The 2013 second-generation model, unveiled at the North American International Auto Show, utilized the Jazz/Fit platform. However, for the 2022 iteration, Honda decided to base the North American HR-V on the Civic’s architecture. This version was also marketed in China and other regions under the name Honda ZR-V.
Externally, the vehicle featured sharp headlamps framing a slim, eight-sided grille integrated into the bumper. The front fascia included an additional lower air intake for enhanced engine cooling, complemented by side air curtains to improve aerodynamic efficiency. The car’s profile showcased sculpted doors and a raised waistline, contributing to a dynamic appearance. Sporty styling cues were further emphasized by the forward-sloping C-pillars at the rear.
The interior housed a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, with a matching 7-inch touchscreen mounted on the center console. A metallic honeycomb pattern adorned the dashboard, extending between the doors. Up front, drivers and passengers found bucket seats, while the rear offered a versatile 60/40 split-folding bench.
Powering the 2022 HR-V was a newly developed 2.0-liter gasoline engine, paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) to deliver power to all four wheels.
