It appears that Ford assembled a team of seasoned off-road experts and tasked them with creating a professional all-terrain pickup truck that even novice drivers could handle on expert-level trails.
Many off-road enthusiasts typically modify their trucks extensively. No one ventures onto tough trails with a stock pickup truck straight from the dealership. While changing tires is just the beginning, modifications quickly extend to the suspension, skid plates, transmission, and more. Ford engineers wondered if they couldn’t achieve this from the factory, and do it even better. They took the F250 and enhanced it, giving birth to the F250 Tremor.
Externally, the vehicle resembled a standard F250, albeit broader and taller. The body featured orange decals on the grille and sides, though the reasons for its increased height and width were more significant.
Inside, the cabin received subtle yet impactful updates compared to the fully-optioned F250 Crew Cab. The interior showcased Active Orange accents complemented by Tremor detailing, including distinctive seat trim with premium stitching, enhanced materials, and refined finishes for the instrument panel, center console, and door panels.
The true enhancements lay beneath the military-grade aluminum bodywork. Engineers fitted a new suspension system with increased ground clearance – one inch at the front and 1.5 inches at the rear. It featured one damper at the front and two at the rear. Larger 33-inch General Grabber all-terrain tires added an extra inch of ground clearance all around. The transmission received upgrades and included a locking rear differential. An optional front locker was available alongside the standard LSD system. A comprehensive set of skid plates protected the truck’s underbody, while the towing capacity remained unchanged at 10,900 pounds (4,944 kg).
