Ford introduced the third generation of the F150 Raptor in 2021, debuting as the 2022 model year, and it delivered an even more aggressive and hardcore performance than its predecessors.
The automotive world was captivated in 2009 when Ford presented the first-generation Raptor, celebrated for its exceptional high-speed off-road capabilities. While competitors eventually caught up to its performance standards, Ford responded with the second generation. The 2021 third-generation model took things to a new level, becoming even more robust and adept at conquering obstacles such as bumps, dunes, and potholes.
While focusing on performance, Ford also paid attention to the vehicle’s appearance. Despite its imposing presence that might suggest otherwise, the F150 Raptor remained exceptionally capable of impressive jumps. Its design featured a flat front grille prominently displaying large FORD lettering, flanked by LED headlights. The aluminum skid plate under the engine was not concealed but rather integrated into the front bumper design. From the side profile, it retained the familiar four-door F150 configuration with a separate cargo bed at the rear.
Inside, the cabin received subtle yet impactful updates compared to the fully-optioned F150 Crew Cab. The interior showcased Active Orange accents complemented by Tremor detailing, including distinctive seat trim with premium stitching, enhanced materials, and refined finishes for the center stack, console, and door panels. A comprehensive TFT display dominated the instrument cluster, offering an array of vehicle functions specifically tailored for the Raptor variant.
Underneath its formidable exterior, the Raptor boasted a twin-turbocharged engine mated to a 10-speed transmission, along with a specially tuned chassis. The rear suspension system featured a five-link design with extended trailing arms to optimize axle positioning on rugged terrain, complemented by a Panhard rod and 24-inch coil springs – the longest in its class.
