A month following the debut of the Ranger, Ford unveiled the latest iteration of the Everest, succeeding its seven-year-old model.
Building on the success of the previous Everest generation, Ford retained the winning formula for the 2022 model. The vehicle inherited the chassis and powertrain from the Ranger, with a revised body structure integrated on top.
The 2022 Everest’s front end mirrored its pickup counterpart, featuring C-shaped daytime running lights and a prominent grille embellished with chrome accents. The lower bumper included fog lamps and recovery hooks. Distinctively, the Everest showcased a fully-enclosed body design, with an elongated roof extending beyond the rear seats. The forward-sloping D-pillar, enhanced with chrome trim, effectively concealed the SUV’s workhorse origins. Rear styling incorporated taillights that spanned from the quarter panels onto the tailgate, united by a chrome strip bearing the Everest badge.
The interior shared the Ranger’s dashboard layout, highlighted by a spacious infotainment system mounted on the center console. A fully digital instrument cluster featured a central rectangular display flanked by separate TFT screens for the speedometer and tachometer. Premium trims offered leather upholstery, while entry-level models came with fabric seats. The vehicle retained its popular seven-seat configuration, maintaining its appeal as a family-friendly SUV.
Power options included a V6 turbo-diesel engine developed in partnership with Volkswagen, while the base model utilized a 2.0-liter bi-turbo diesel. Both engine variants were paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission delivering power to all wheels.
