RAM Trucks took its time to introduce the first fully electric pickup, but the result was a vehicle loaded with innovative technology and unique features unmatched in its class.
Recognizing the skepticism of pickup enthusiasts towards electric vehicles, Stellantis aimed to impress them with a truck that surpasses all competitors in its segment. The company went beyond just creating a work vehicle, offering a combination of on- and off-road capabilities, luxurious comfort, and exceptional versatility.
The aggressive design that RAM vehicles are known for was preserved in the new model. The front features a prominent illuminated badge on the grille, complemented by arrow-shaped LED daytime running lights and headlamps. The 1500 REV boasts flared front fenders to accommodate 275/50R22 wheels, while the rear includes an optional power tailgate with an illuminated red RAM emblem.
The interior offers an array of high-tech features, including a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, a 14.5-inch Uconnect 5 infotainment touchscreen, and a 10.25-inch passenger display, with the option of a head-up display. Acknowledging the recreational use of pickups, the vehicle comes with V2L functionality, featuring a 3.6 kW outlet in the front trunk and a 7.2 kW plug at the rear for powering tools, appliances, homes, or charging other electric vehicles.
Underpinning the vehicle is the new STLA platform with a specialized frame for body-on-frame construction and a dual-motor system delivering up to 654 horsepower (481 kW) to both axles. Buyers can choose between two battery options: a standard 168 kWh pack providing a range of 350 miles (563 km) or an extended 229 kWh battery offering an impressive 500 miles (805 km) in the 800-volt architecture pickup.
