Acura introduced the 2011 TSX Sport Wagon at the 2010 New York Auto Show. Although it was essentially a rebadged version of the European Honda Accord Tourer, it had several notable differences.
With its increasingly aggressive styling, the TSX targeted the mid-size premium vehicle segment. While the sedan version had been available since 2008, the lack of a station wagon variant made it challenging for Acura to boost sales, particularly among young families. The design team from the badge-engineering department didn’t exert much effort in creating it.
The TSX Sport Wagon featured a distinctive Acura grille with a prominent chrome strip at the top, positioned under the hood’s edge. At the front, the side scoops were adorned with silver covers around the fog lights. At the rear, the station wagon received a new set of revised taillights and a rear license plate garnish, enhancing its visual appeal.
Like the rest of the TSX lineup, the 2011 models received visual upgrades. It showcased a refreshed center stack design with darker trims, silver door handles, and a new steering wheel. For the rear seats, Acura installed heating and cooling vents. In its station wagon form, the TSX offered 472 liters (16.7 cu-ft) of space with the seats up and up to 1,713 liters (60.5 cu-ft) with the rear bench folded.
Unlike its European counterpart, the 2011 Acura TSX Sport Wagon offered a choice of two engines: a 2.4-liter inline-four and a 3.5-liter V-6. The former was available with either a six-speed manual or a five-speed automatic transmission, while the latter came standard with a five-speed automatic.
