Acura’s attempt to revitalize the RSX for the 2005-2006 model years ultimately led to the model’s discontinuation, marking the end of the legendary Integra lineage. Despite sharing the Honda Civic Coupe’s platform, the RSX aimed for a more upscale positioning but struggled with a less-than-luxury ride quality and a higher price point compared to its sibling, making it a less attractive option for younger buyers.
The 2005 refresh brought notable exterior changes, including simplified headlight designs with straight lower edges instead of the previous double curves, a redesigned front bumper with updated grille and side scoops, and 17-inch alloy wheels standard on the Type S. The rear end received matching taillight updates to complement the revised front fascia.
Inside, the RSX maintained its minimalist design while offering an array of premium options: sport seats, leather upholstery, a sunroof, and automatic climate control. Performance came from a 2.0-liter VTEC engine, available with either a five-speed manual or automatic transmission, preserving the model’s sporty heritage despite its eventual demise.
